A TV Program About Alcoholism Symptoms Leads To Discouraging Feelings About A Lady's Irresponsible And Abusive Drinking

Sharon had been engaging in abusive drinking behavior since her junior year in college. Now, ten years later, she drank more than ever. One Friday night when she was feeling queasy, Sharon decided to stay home, lighten up, and watch TV. While seeking to find a program to watch that she would find appealing, she instantaneously got interested in a program about teen and young adult drinking issues.

The spokesperson talked about the difference between alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction and then discussed the topic of alcoholic symptoms and alcoholic behavior. When the spokesperson discussed a person's symptoms of withdrawal and some of the more normal alcoholic signs and symptoms that alcohol addicted people exhibit, Sharon got quite troubled because it basically seemed as if the spokesperson was talking directly to her.

After watching the TV documentary, Sharon promised herself that she would telephone her doctor the next workday and schedule an appointment to discuss her abusive and irresponsible drinking.

When the next business day arrived, true to her word, Sharon called her doctor and made an appointment. While she was waiting for the day of her appointment to arrive, she went online and did a search for alcoholism symptoms. Especially noteworthy were the following signs or symptoms: making excuses to drink at virtually every opportunity, sneaking extra drinks before social events, increasing irritability, serious relationship and work-related problems, and sleep problems.

Simply put, due to the fact that Sharon exhibited all of these signs she went further in her online search and found quite a lot of websites and blogs that featured various alcoholic symptoms and warning signs. One of the symptoms that really took hold of her attention was the following: "Do you frequently drink after making a promise to yourself that you won't?"

Another alcoholic symptom that caught her awareness was the following: "Have friends pestered you by denouncing your abusive and excessive drinking?" A third alcoholic symptom was the following: "Do you need a drink when you first awaken in the morning?"

The final alcoholism warning sign that made her feel slightly anxious about her drinking problems was the following: "Has your ambition declined since you started drinking on a regular basis?" When Sharon read this sign she clearly comprehended that drinking had become a severe issue in her life because of her diminished energy level and also because she gave up pursuing her goals and her passions.

After reflecting on all of these damaging alcohol addiction signs and symptoms, Sharon at first felt crestfallen. Then something exciting occurred. She realized that she was going to see her health care provider about her drinking problems and she also reflected on the fact that that she would discuss her alcohol addiction warning signs and symptoms.

As a matter of fact, for the first time in quite a few months, Sharon frankly felt a sense of optimism because she was addressing her drinking problems and was finally ready to make the necessary adjustments so that she could regain the life that was sliding away.
